Within Intel labs, the Wireless Communications Lab (WCL) strives to continuously improve the capabilities of wireless networks and devices, to enable Intel platforms with new wireless features and capabilities and to create a robust intellectual property pipeline for Intel in wireless communications & connectivity.

The WCL is looking to hire a researcher to join our team focusing on research in interference mitigation, advanced receiver design and cooperative communications for next generation wireless communication systems. The candidate will be expected to produce appropriate Intellectual property, high quality publications for journals and/or conferences and contributions to international standards bodies. Candidates should be proficient in developing simulations, use of evaluation tools and be able to conduct validation of research concepts. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to engage in the academic community and work across multiple international sites to realize the research ideas in future products.

• Strong teamwork in order to work closely with multidisciplinary teams across different organizations

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous job and/or research experiences.

Minimum qualifications

• Must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 1 year of experience with system modeling and simulations for performance analysis related wireless communication interference
• Minimum 1 year of experience with C/C++, Matlab and ns/Opnet
• Minimum 1 year of experience with wireless communications and signal processing; with emphasis on one or more of the following skill sets:
• Interference mitigation techniques, beamforming, channel estimation
• OFDM, multiuser MIMO, and information-theoretic performance analysis
• channel coding and wireless channel modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in the above skill sets
• 1+ years of experience with physical/MAC layers of wireless systems (e.g. 3GPP LTE/LTE-Advanced, WiMAX, WiFi)
