As a tour guide, you will provide guests with a fun, informative and professional experience as you tour them to wineries and other local venues throughout the beautiful Okanagan. We offer public tours with set itineraries on a daily basis year round, as well as provide custom tours for private and corporate groups. The company also offers transportation services for larger groups in either our 11 or 14 passenger vans or our 24 passenger bus. You will be required to accomplish the following:
Pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspection
Pick-up/Drop off at hotels and all other accommodations
Safely transport guests in company vehicles
Introduce tour to participants
Escort groups on tour and manage tour enroute
Ensure itinerary is met
Provide tour commentary enroute
Inform venues if going to be late
Use wireless terminal to collect payment (if not prepaid) and batch out
Demonstrate and promote safety requirements
Problem-solve and respond to special needs
Maintain accurate financial and clerical records
Tour wrap-up
Wash and vacuum vehicle if required
Fuel vehicle if required
Evaluate tour and report any problems and passenger feedback
Job Requirements Qualifications:Education and Skills Required:
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Clear drivers abstract
No criminal record
Related experience in the travel industry an asset
Ability to research special interest commentary, eg. natural history, wine culture, Kelowna & Okanagan Valley history
Related post-secondary education an asset
Some knowledge of the Kelowna & Okanagan Valley history, natural history and wine culture
Cell phone use
Computer skills
Class 4 driver’s license
Use of wireless terminal
