Telecommunications Structural Engineer or Technologist: Harvey 1466

We provide engineering consulting services for Telecommunication Site Design, Parkade Restoration, Building Condition Assessments, as well as services to the insurance and legal professions. Our growing team has immediate openings for a full time Intermediate Structural Engineer/Technologist. Skills Required:
The position suits a candidate experienced in the structural design of commercial, institutional and/or industrial buildings.
The ideal candidate will be a Structural Engineer or Technologist with a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the structural design field.
A working knowledge of the BC Building Code is mandatory.
Ability to be able assess existing building structures is also mandatory. The position primarily involves the design of structural infrastructure for wireless telecommunication sites at our new Surrey office.

Specific tasks include:

• Design all structural components of cell sites and ensure the existing base structure can support the new installation.
• Communicate directly with the client to provide recommendations and ensure their needs for the site design are met
• Conduct site visits throughout the projects, from initial site assessment to final field review.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, geotechnical and building envelope sub consultants, as well as with the general contractor.
• Provide functional, cost effective solutions for installations where space, aesthetics and safety requirements are all factors.
• You will have excellent oral and written communication skills in order to deal effectively with staff, clients and construction site personnel.

This is a fulltime position.
Salary is open depending on experience.
