Senior Network Engineer
Vector Resources is seeking experienced Senior Network Engineers to provide proactive and reactive support to customers, network and systems engineering and maintenance contract escalations. The Network Engineers will be responsible for network and systems configuration & troubleshooting, infrastructure design, implementation planning, deployment support, network strategy, performance engineering and optimization, proof of concept testing, network auditing & sizing, pre-staging, pre-configuration, deployment planning, and acceptance of hardware. The primary areas of support will be in the greater Los Angeles and the inland empire areas.

5 years experience in Information Technology Minimum 3 years experience with network routers and switches. Experience with 802.11 wireless networking, access points and wireless controllers. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ACLs, ARP, WINS, RADIUS, Intrusion Prevention, Authentication, and VPN Diverse firewall/router background. Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, ability to write clear, concise project reports Ability to function with minimal instruction or supervision, or as a part of larger team reporting to formal project management. Strong communication and organizational skills Proven troubleshooting skills, work with support team to troubleshoot complex problems Ability to quickly learn new systems Experience with Microsoft operating systems and Office applications Strong customer service demeanor Must have reliable transportation and valid Driver’s License for travel to local jobsites Must be able to work evening hours Must pass a drug test, background check, and a Department of Justice fingerprint criminal check.
Vendor Certifications strongly preferred (Cisco, HP, Microsoft, etc.) Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Exchange platforms a big plus. Extensive VoIP experience a plus Wiring infrastructure experience and cabling plant exposure a plus Customer facing professional services and/or consulting experience
Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Manage and perform the installation and configuration of LAN/WAN infrastructures, including routers, switches, UPS, firewalls, VPN concentrators, and IP Telephony. Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks Document network layout and design Be on call and respond to client network outages efficiently as needed Assist team members with projects as needed, pre-sales & post-sales support required. Manage multiple priorities and meet all deadlines
