Two exciting new vacancies are available at the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery for developing novel implantable sensors and devices for minimally invasive surgical intervention. Applicants are invited at either Research Assistant (pre-doctoral) or Research Associate (post-doctoral) level.
T he Hamlyn Centre is dedicated for developing safe, effective and accessible imaging, sensing and robotics technologies that can reshape the future of healthcare. Focusing on technological innovation but with a strong emphasis on clinical translation and direct patient benefit with a global impact, the centre is at the forefront of research in imaging, sensing and robotics for addressing global health challenges associated with demographic, environment, social and economic changes.
Through a multi-modal approach linking novel biosensors with spectroscopically derived data, the project addresses both direct and indirect sensing targets for early detection of surgical site infection, continuous monitoring of tissue viability, and quantitative assessment of functional restoration.
We are looking for outstanding applicants in either of the following two areas of research: Low power microelectronics and mixed-signal ASICs (from schematics to tapeout, d ie postprocessing and system integration ); Implantable micro-electronics (wireless power and data link, in vivo integrated sensor interfacing, packaging and miniaturisation).
