Acentia is seeking a Regional Desktop Support Technician to join our team.
The Desktop Support Regional Technician is responsible for desktop support and resolution of all desktop problems. The individual will receive Peregrine incidents (trouble tickets) and provide first and second level phone and desktop support to the customer. The selected candidate will be the sole source of technical support on the client site.
Duties for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:
Overall desktop computer diagnosis and problem resolution support for the client, software installs and configuration, installs, peripheral equipment installation and maintenance, wireless and LAN configuration and access issues, and other desktop support functions
Support and resolve problems related to installed microcomputer software
Identify software application, network and hardware malfunctions and take appropriate action to resolve issues ensuring data/system integrity
Provide guidance and training to Computer Services staff in resolving problems and queries
Provide remote assistance to Call Center staff during high call volumes and low ticket volumes
Escalate any unresolved problem to management for Tier III support
Experience with Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of local and network printers, scanners, hard drives, RAM, Blackberry, video cards, as well as other desktop items
2 years of Technical troubleshooting in a Helpdesk or Desktop support environment (Required)
1 year of VPN support including but not limited to troubleshooting and configuring Cisco clients and wireless networks
1 year of using a trouble ticketing system such as HP Service Center, Remedy, Vantive
Skills and Qualities:
Must be able to work on a rotating schedule for after hours support every few months
Must be organized, timely, and customer service oriented
Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
Adaptability, flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity and change
Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills
Excellent attention to detail and good analytical skills
A+ Certification (Required)
Microsoft Certifications (preferred, or will need to be certified within 30 days)
Must be able to pass a Minimum Background Investigation
