The company is headquartered in Spartanburg, SC, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fujikura Ltd. of Japan.Duties and Responsibilities: This position can be based anywhere in the Northeastern United States. Provides supervision within the market area to installers, optimizer, and other technical personnel and equipment resources for projects assigned to the site, and providing support to functional and program management at all levels.

Ensures safe and cost-effective use of test equipment, tools, and resources.In support of the Site Manager (or with delegated/specific ownership from the Site Manager) ensure that objectives are clearly and completely specified. In conjunction with Site Manager and other Managers, make sure justifiable site resources exist and are assigned to projects. Provides Site Manager with timely updates and reports on employees and job(s) progress Submit requisitions for equipment, tools, and test equipment required to accomplish assigned tasks and maintains control of same ensuring a correct inventory is kept and calibration is up to date. Submit requisitions for safety equipment for Technicians, as required.

Provides guidance to subordinates in satisfying the administrative requirements on field project tasks based on broad knowledge of Customer requirements. Maintains a resource database of personnel and their individual capabilities against which task requirements may be compared. Works with Site Manager in opening job requisitions, assist in the interviewing of job applicants, makes hiring recommendations. Reviews and approves time cards of assigned personnel.

Working with Site Managers, initiates and completes Employee Performance Assessments for Technicians and other assigned personnel. Submit recommendations for training pertaining to technical staff. Ensures all assigned employees are provided training as directed by the Site Manager i.e. ISO, ESD and RF Awareness.Analyze project plans to define critical resource requirements and interim work a rounds as well as tradeoffs required to provide adequate support within stated timeframes.Support Project Managers by generating detailed resource implementation plans tailored to projects being implemented at the site.

Work with Site manager and other site managers to ensure plans are consistent across the region.Maintain operations action item database associated with the site and provide timely updates to the Site Manager. Escalate open operations action items proactively.Provide high Level support and Technical guidance to subordinates.Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES Self-starter with integrity and confidence who strives to achieve in even the most challenging environments with limited supervision. Good time management.Skills/Requirements Bachelors degree in business, a technical discipline, or equivalent applicable experience.Position requires a minimum of five years in a technical field or in a technical support function with specific knowledge of the telecommunications field.Position requires a minimumof three years supervisory experience.Must possess project management skills in the areas of scheduling, cost control andwork breakdown structures.Minimum of three years supervisory experience.Ericsson Certifications UMTS, LTE, GSM, WCDMA or similar.Experience with Ericsson 6000 Series RBS preferred.Ability to lead and develop lower level technicians.Ability to travel overnight.Must successfully complete pre-employment assessments, background & reference checks.Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills combined with technical understanding of voice, data, and fiber optic systems.BenefitsAFL offers an excellent benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K,T&E Card, Cell Phone and Laptop.
