£20,000 to £25,000 + benefits

My client is an innovative events technology business looking to strengthen our wireless deployment team. This front line, exciting role will see the successful applicant work across the UK, Europe and potentially in the United States. Being a client facing role, we demand excellent communication skills, coupled with excellent technical skills and experience. You will be working with internal teams from sales, account management and logistics through to external teams including clients, technical specialists and event teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong networking skills including TCP/IP and 802.11 wireless technologies. A successful track record in managing and deploying small networks and wireless installations is essential.

The key elements of the role will require the following technical knowledge:

  • TCP/IP Knowledge
  • 802.11 Knowledge
  • Basic structural cabling knowledge
  • Basic SSH & Linux commands
  • Basic hardware trouble shooting

The key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Site surveys (Understanding venue existing network infrastructure)
  • Producing detailed survey reports
  • Wireless configuration and deployment at event venues
  • Representing the company on site as the wireless expert
  • Installing, monitoring and troubleshooting the network pre, post and during events
  • Maintaining equipment at HQ to ensure faultless deployment at events

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Xirrus (or similar) technology
  • Have or studying towards a CCNA / Juniper certification
  • Exposure to virtualisation

Essential further requirements

  • Full driving licence
  • Passport and ability to travel internationally
  • Willing to travel across the UK and Europe
  • Strong interpersonal skills
