The Network Security Manager participates in and provides leadership in the development, deployment and support of secure infrastructures, applications and technology initiatives, both from an architectural and operational perspective. In this role the Network Security Manager will build and implement a flexible and comprehensive security policy that is deployed and managed across the enterprise. This security policy will take into consideration the unique structure of the business and will use current generally accepted best practices for establishing the security environment.
Serve as the primary point of contact and primary escalation point for any security related issues
Work alongside IT staff to ensure the infrastructure is in constant compliance with the security requirements of the business
Implement a manageable process for logging and investigating security incidents as they occur
Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding current security technologies
Work with 3rd party providers and vendors to ensure the company is well positioned from a technical perspective
Ensure all business locations are current to security standards, policies and requirements
Along with the listed responsibilities, the Network Security Manager must be goal oriented, highly motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision. You must also be extremely systematic, detail oriented, work well in a team environment and have thorough problem solving capabilities.
Bachelors degree with a technical background or comparable experience in the field.
A minimum of 5 years experience as a network security engineer and prior experience as a network administrator. Experience in a high availability environment is strongly preferred.
Two or more of the following security certifications highly desired – CCSP, CISSP, CCNP+S, GIAC, CCIE Security, ITIL.
Working knowledge of Juniper and Cisco networking equipment
In depth knowledge of TCP/IP including routing and routed protocols
Functional knowledge of IT Forensics and data collection
Hands on management and configuration of DNS / FTP / SNMP / SMTP and LDAP servers
Strong functional knowledge of Secure ID, RADIUS, and group based authentication
In depth wireless networking knowledge including configuring and securing wireless networks. (Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, 802.11x)
Strong knowledge of mobile wireless devices (3G, CDMA, etc.)
Hands on experience doing functional security testing against firewalls, servers, end point clients and network equipment
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Core Technologies
Working knowledge and understanding of threat management tools, log management tools and IDP/IPS solutions
Strong knowledge of mobile user VPN solutions and client configurations
Other technical knowledge that will be beneficial:
Working knowledge of Juniper, Checkpoint, Watchguard, Cisco PIX and other firewall technologies
Working knowledge of networking infrastructure
Hands on experience with Ethereal, Sniffer Pro or other protocol analysis tools
Advanced hardware troubleshooting skills (network, server, etc.)
Experience with configuration, and network management tools like SolarWinds, Microsoft SCOM or HP Openview
Strong project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced ability to recognize and remediate network issues up to and including the server OS level (Linux or Windows)
Ability to recognize, mitigate, and troubleshoot DDOS attacks
Working understanding of SOX compliance requirements
