The position will have a dual role : heading up tech support for the company and tech support for client-facing research projects. The successful candidate will easily be able to handle multiple projects, tracking deliverables and timelines.
Company-wide IT responsibilities will include:
Hands-on helpdesk support for 30 in-house and 10 offsite employees.
Perform installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows desktops, laptops and a wide range of software (business and graphics).
Troubleshoot and fix hardware, software and network problems.
Assist with installation, configuration and maintenance Windows, (Active Directory, Exchange, CRM, Fileservers, FTP, Backup Exec, Symantec Endpoint Protection).
Research, purchase and customize a variety of office software packages (ranging from screen-sharing tools, Salesforce, and resource-allocation tools).
Help support network including wireless devices, switches, routers, VPN and firewall.
Help manage server room and office infrastructure: power, cooling, cabling etc.
Manage vendors (equipment providers, software providers, etc.).
Project-related tech support will include:
Research cutting-edge technology to improve our service offerings to clients.
Coordinate technology needs for research studies.
Set up equipment for usability, eye-tracking and mobile studies.
Produce basic video compilations based on researchers’ specifications and timestamps.

The ideal candidate will likely meet many or most of the job criteria described below.
Knowledge and Experience:
At least 5 years of related work experience AND at least 5 years of experience as a system administrator in a Windows-based environment.
Strong knowledge of core protocols and services such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, TLS, ICMP
Solid understanding of client backups methodologies
Thorough knowledge of networking fundamentals and server administration
Experience with imaging, cloning and enterprise application roll outs.
Highly comfortable with a variety of software and web technologies (SharePoint, WebEx, MovieMaker, Salesforce, Dreamweaver are a few examples of what we use regularly)
Ability to execute tasks and maintain unwavering performance under heavy pressure.
Strong initiative to take on new projects and a desire to identify ways to contribute.
Customer service oriented and extremely detailed-oriented.
A healthy sense of humor and a fun personality!
Generates sensible, realistic and practical solutions to problems.
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks.
Ability to anticipate needs and plan accordingly.
Available to be on-call for infrequent after-hours emergencies.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
