Intermediate Structural Engineer / Technologist: Harvey 1397

Our company provides engineering consulting services for Telecommunications Site Design, Parkade Restoration, Building Condition Assessments, as well as services to the insurance and legal professions. Our growing team has an immediate opening for a full time Intermediate Structural Engineer/Technologist in our new Surrey office. Skills Required:
The position suits a candidate experienced in the structural design of commercial, institutional and/or industrial buildings. The ideal candidate will be a Structural Engineer or Technologist with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of local B.C. working experience, in the structural design field. A working knowledge of the BC Building Code is mandatory.
This position primarily involves the design of structural infrastructure for wireless telecommunication sites.

Specific tasks include:

• Design all structural components of cell sites and ensure the existing base structure can support the new installation.
• Communicate directly with the client to provide recommendations and ensure their needs for the site design are met.
• Conduct site visits throughout the projects, from initial site assessment to final field review.
• Must be able to coordinate with electrical, mechanical, geotechnical, and building envelope sub consultants, as well as with, the general contractor.
• Ability to provide functional, cost effective solutions, for installations, where space, esthetics, safety, and radio frequency requirements, are all factors.
• You must have excellent oral and written communication skills, in order to deal effectively with staff, clients, and construction site personnel.

This is a fulltime position.
Salary is $50,000 to $60,000
Depending on experience.
