Coordinates the fixIT repair shop ensuring all repairs and contracted services are completed within established timelines Performs and coordinates senior level repair work as assigned Manages vendor certifications held by repair shop staff in all brands offered by the getIT student computer purchase program and retains such certifications personally Ensures that effective, courteous, and prompt customer service is provided to all customers of the fixIT repair center
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to communicate with any students, parents, faculty, and staff who may be in need of technology service and support Demonstrated ability to work effectively with co-workers, faculty, staff, administrators and students to provide technical support, consultation, and training Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing, particularly with regard to development of manuals, procedures and instructional materials Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information so that it is understandable to novice technology users Working knowledge of wired and wireless networking technologies, including familiarity with the OSI model and common protocols Demonstrated knowledge of all common computer and mobile device operating systems, with particular emphasis on Windows, Mac, OS X (including iOS), and Linux (including Android). Working knowledge of common and current computing software, such as Microsoft Office, media players, web browsers, and the ways in which these tools interact Demonstrated ability to install and maintain peripheral devices and internal computer components such as video controllers, hard drives, RAM, wireless mice and keyboards, and other common accessories Ability to diagnose and resolve standalone and networked software problems, as well as hardware issues, at all technical levels using enterprise troubleshooting tools, email, or onsite visits; this should include the ability to apply troubleshooting theory 2 years computer repair experience. Education/training: BachelorĂ¢??s degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline; equivalent additional computer repair experience may be considered in place of a degree Work experience: Some supervisory experience preferred. Licensure, registration or certifications: A+ certification required. MCDST preferred. Vendor repair certifications for Apple, Dell and Lenovo within 3 months of hiring required.
