F5 Network & Firewall Engineer is required by leading Financial Services organisation to provide on-going evaluation of business and technical requirements and to develop the Network Architecture accordingly.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience working in financial services organisations

Experience of design and delivery of secure solutions meeting PCI-DSS requirements

Experience of designing Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) deployments

Experience in design, build and implementation of corporate size local and wide area networks.

Experience in design, build, and implementation of corporate wireless networks.

Experience in design, build and implementation of SIP-based IP telephony systems.

Professional accreditation in relevant technical disciplines – (eg, Cisco CCIE or Juniper JNCIE)

Proven ability to plan and execute workload in a dynamic environment

Technical Knowledge:
Recognised knowledge of business critical systems

Proven ability in the design and implementation of complex IP network solutions

Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network faults

(Essential) In-depth knowledge of

F5 Load-Balancers

(Essential) In-depth understanding of

Layer-2 networks

including Ethernet, spanning-tree, LACP, VLANs

(Essential) In-depth understanding of

Layer-3 networks

including IP, OSPF, BGP and MPLS.

(Essential) Experience with

Cisco routers

,

switches

and

firewalls

including 6500 series, 3750 series, ASA firewalls.

(Essential) Experience with

Juniper

JunOS switches and firewalls, including EX series switches and SRX firewalls.

(Essential) Knowledge of other related products: Cisco Nexus, Cisco UCS, HP BladeCentre, VMware, Fortinet Fortigate, SourceFire IDS, F5 load-balancer

(Desirable) Experience with Aruba Networks wireless network infrastructure

(Desirable) Experience with IP telephony systems, including Cisco Call-Manager

(Desirable) Experience with IP video conferencing systems, including Polycom

(Desirable) Knowledge of other related products: Cisco Nexus, Cisco UCS, HP BladeCentre, VMware, Fortinet Fortigate, SourceFire IDS, F5 load-balancers.

Knowledge of other related protocols and solutions: DNS, AD, DHCP, QoS, SNMP

Knowledge of cabling media, industry standards and associated interfaces

Knowledge of Network Management Platforms

Maintain an expert level technical knowledge in the required technical areas and a broader specialist base as new technologies emerge

Project Delivery

Gather information to understand scope of project, and produce clear definition of technical deliverables with accurate estimates.

Relationship Management

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other technical authorities responsible for creating and maintaining standards in specialism

Planning, Monitoring and Control

Assist in project planning by providing accurate estimates, continually reviewing forecasts and liaising with PMs to keep resource allocations up to date
