Highly technical position that will primarily focus on doing analysis of analog circuits in a support role. Other tasks may include helping establish new processes, products and technology into a set of procedures, guidelines, design rules and models for applications in NPI and manufacture engineering disciplines. This position reports directly to the Projects Engineering Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Solid background doing analysis work on analog circuits
  • Understanding of/experience with transistors, amplifiers, regulators and comparators
  • Investigates new technology for product and process improvements.
  • Solves problems relating to existing products and processes
  • Proposes new mechanical and/or electrical methods utilizing new technology.
  • Specify and monitor validation and verification testing of new technology and prototypes that utilize new methods, processes and procedures.
  • Specify detail regarding the design and fabrication of prototypes for testing and validation.

An understanding of hand tools, Electrical test equipment, Measuring equipment, automation concepts and automated test equipment.

Must understand basic gas/air, piping, electrical, mechanical and automation concepts.

Skills and Education Required:

  • MUST – Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited University, in Electrical Engineering is required
  • Prior experience with SPICE (i.e. PSpice) software is a Plus (limited usage)
  • Ability to research technical subjects, summarize it and teach it to others within the company.
  • Familiar with Design and Analysis tools, including, but not limited to Design of Experiment (DOE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/A), Total Quality Management (TQM), and similar product development techniques.
  • Base programming and analysis techniques.

Electrical Engineer – Direct Hire

Candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work. This individual will be responsible for electronic design (analog, digital power electronics and/or motors). This individual must understand electronics schematics and be well versed in the principles of circuit design. Prior experience with electronics packaging would be a big plus.

Component Engineer (Obsolecence Analysis) (*cb)

General Activities:

  • Identify and develop solutions to electronic/semiconductor device obsolescence problems using State- of-the -Art databases.
  • Knowledge of IC Circuitary, use of replacement parts from current and emerging New technologies.
  • Identify the transition from component replacement to board level redesign.
  • Proactively track the progress of technology road map and industry trends and preditions for new device development/ solutions.
  • Select device solutions that provide cost effectiveness, improved reliability, less power, and capacity for added growth.

Detailed Activities:

  • Use of BOM Manager, CAPXpert, Silicon Expert, PCN Alert, BOM Manager, Parts Navigator, GIDEP, ERAI,Fastener database information
  • Data bases to identify obsolete components and recommended replacement candidates for review and analysis by engineering.
  • Conduct additional searches of supplier data bases for recommended Pin-to-pin electrically equivalent replacement parts.
  • Place all obsolescence data and replacement component data into the File-Maker Pro DSA database and generate Analysis Reports.
  • Access GDLS ‘Team Center’ to identify which electronic circuit board utilize obsolete components and add to the DSA database.
  • Enter all Engineering comments and letters and memos from suppliers into the File-Maker Pro DSA database.
  • Maintain the DSA database for M1A2, M1A1, HAB, SEP, AAAV, KSA, Kuwait, Stryker, GCV, JLTV, FOX and Pandur vehicles
  • Circuit Card Assembly board design, evaluation and verification.
  • Understanding of advanced electronic device technologies,IC circuitary
  • New technology and Nano technology application for military usage
  • Knowledge of BOM Manager, CAPXpert, Silicon Expert, PCN Alert, BOM Manager, Parts Navigator, GIDEP information systems highly desirable
