£18,000 – £20,000 + Benefits COMTACT NORTHAMPTON DESKTOP SUPPORT ANALYST – THE ROLE Comtact are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to provide technical day-to-day support to their external customer site in Northampton. The role will include proactive maintenance and support for PCs, Printers & other local IT devices supporting multiple users across many sites/departments. DESKTOP SUPPORT ANALYST – RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and resolve users’ problems with PCs, Printers & other local IT devices within agreed SLAs Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to meet business needs Act as Information Asset Administrator for PCs, Printers & other local IT devices Be responsible for day to day and proactive maintenance activities Working in conjunction with the IT Security and Risk Officer, creating and maintaining Security documentation, conducting audits checks and resolving identified Security issues Develop and maintain a good understanding of the functionality and structure of supported PCs, Printers & other local IT devices Maintain appropriate system documentation for both technical support and end-user training Analyse and understand how IT services support the business processes to enable improvements through reduced costs, improved reliability, reduced errors and faster responsiveness. Design and implement solutions or to support business processes DESKTOP SUPPORT ANALYST – SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Essential Good technical knowledge of PC (Desktop & Laptops) hardware set-up and repairs/maintenance Good technical knowledge of Desktop deployment & imaging tools (eg Ghost, SCCM, etc.) Good working knowledge of networks (both physical cabling & patching, also Active Directory) Experience of Desktop Support within a SME environment (ideally 1000+ end-users) across multiple sites Experience of fault-finding covering the identification, analysis and resolution of infrastructure problems and errors Experience of working within a team Experience of major roll-outs of PCs, Printers and other local IT devices to new & refurbished buildings Desirable Ability to support a range of other end-user IT devices (eg desk phones, mobile phones, Blackberrys, printers & print Servers) Ability to support Wireless & VoIP for end-user Telephony devices & PCs Experience of working within an end-user environment using Wireless networks to support VoIP phones and PCs DESKTOP SUPPORT ANALYST – COMPETENCIES Passion for technology High energy and positive attitude Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment Strong communication skills, across all levels Builds effective and friendly working relationships Commitment and drive DESKTOP SUPPORT ANALYST – THE COMPANY Comtact are an entirely unique, forward thinking company with a refreshing approach to both business and technology.
