As a local Driver you have the responsibility of driving a company van or small truck (14 or 20 foot box truck); transporting material from customers and Iron Mountain locations; loading and unloading vehicle with the help of a variety of mechanisms; using wireless scanning technology; preparing paperwork, and performing the delivery/pick-up of customer material in a courteous, efficient and professional manner.
Being a Driver/Courier is a highly physical job that requires the ability to perform the following: lifting material up to 70 pounds, pushing, pulling, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
HOURS OF WORK : Flexibility of working weekends, after hours and over-time as required (Part-Time, 20 hours/week).
Responsible for executing services requested by clients in Iron Mountain facilities within the district.
Process retrieval orders including pulling items, verifying items, closing service orders in the system, manifesting all orders and preparing for shipment to customers.
Process all internal moves including pulling customer material from one location and storing it in another location, investigating all exceptions and closing all work orders in the system.
Process all destructions including pulling required material, verifying it for accuracy, preparing it for destruction, investigating and resolving all exceptions.
Research and resolve discrepancies encountered during above processes and communicate difficult issues or problems to supervisor.
Prepare and process all record center paperwork necessary to accomplish the above processes.
Responsible for adhering to standard operating procedures and operational excellence metrics.
Observe all safety procedures and report safety issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid CLASS 5 driver’s license with air brake endorsement – or willingness to obtain endorsement. Good driving record and safe/efficient-driving skills.
2 years of route transportation experience in a similar environment – is an asset.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner.
Computer proficiency, experience with wireless scanning technology – is an asset.
Capability of handling physical work, using tools to maneuver, and lifting material up to 70 pounds.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation, including: employment and criminal verification.
Must be at least 21 years of age
Detailed oriented, keen to accuracy and ability to complete paperwork.
