Overview:
Chevron Infrastructure Assets / Network Assets organization is looking for a high caliber individual that will be responsible for working directly with Chevron’s Major Capital Project teams and engineering companies to create standard design templates, review designs and coordinate implement of global LAN/MAN, WAN, Voice (IPT), security, transmission systems including VSAT and RF connectivity, and other remote access technologies. Special emphasis is placed on coordination, collaboration, project planning and strategic alignment with Chevron Business Units for all Infrastructure Asset needs.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Capital Projects – Network & IT Infrastructure Engineer located in Houston, TX through February 15, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Detailed knowledge of telecommunications technologies and their application in the design of business networks, Radio communications, PCN Networks, VSAT and Microwave/Wimax systems.

Experienced in switching, routing, IP addressing, QOS, IPT, VPN, firewalls, Wireless including VSAT and RF connectivity, Application Acceleration (i.e. Steelhead).

Develops technical specifications and scopes of work required for bid packages for Major Capital Projects to assure Chevron IT standards are followed.

Review of contractor artifacts – EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), technical drawings, designs, and material requisitions.

Business acumen required with the ability to negotiate and translate knowledge of unique regional or area requirements of Chevron business units into reliable products and services required.

Oversight of solution deployment and transitioning of support to operations teams.

Facilitate adoption of best practices and information sharing across Infrastructure Assets and MCP project teams.

Understand Base Business operations and processes to ensure MCP solutions effectively address post implementation support for successful handover and operations.

Work to drive better leverage of Infrastructure Assets resources (non MCP) in support of MCPs.

Represent MCP requirements into Infrastructure Assets planning processes to drive for more effective solutions and services.

Works safely and reinforces the safety habits of all employees and contractors in team.

Building the ‘one team’ vision of IT.

A good understanding of the ITC organization and processes to effectively facilitate engaging the right resources to support the MCP.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or IT related field.

Minimum of 8 years related working experience.

Experienced in network infrastructure design / operation support processes and working knowledge of ITSM.

Strong project management skills.

Excellent coordination & prioritization skills.

Strong leadership, teamwork, and business engagement skills.

Ability to communicate at all levels to the businesses.

Preferred Qualifications:
CCIE Certification

PMP Certification

Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters. *LI-DD1

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
