Full Time Opportunity

Our downtown Toronto based client, is seeking an Application Support Specialist to work in the Information Technology Group.

The Application Support Specialist has day-to-day functional support responsibilities for the Firm’s document management (DM) system. This position is responsible for all aspects of system operations, enhancements, maintenance and 2nd-level support. The Specialist is the technical lead for all problem resolution and disaster recovery related to the document management system. The Specialist will also be responsible for supporting other applications that are integrated with DM and for maintaining document templates.

Minimum two year business computing diploma or equivalent
2 years’ experience with OpenText document management systems (e-Docs)
Experience developing with DM API and designing DM forms
Experience working with Wireless DMS
Experience working with DM Email Filing
Familiarity with ASP/HTML development
Experience with Visual Basic
Experience running SQL queries for reporting and troubleshooting purposes
Proficient with desktop application configurations
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and MS Word Macros
Experience with enterprise search applications (e.g., Autonomy or FAST) are an asset
Experience in a legal professional services environment is an asset

Support and maintain OpenText Document Management system (e-Docs) and integrated applications; act as technical lead for troubleshooting and problem resolution of DM system related issues
Work with other IT teams to develop functional requirements for enhancements to the document management system, including UI and performance standards.
Responsible for modifications and enhancements to DM software as required to meet business needs
Provide technical support and guidance as required to deliver documents through web-based interfaces
Perform routine preventative maintenance and evaluate the system for capacity planning on a regular basis
Write and maintain detailed system documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting procedures
Support other types of applications as required, especially with Microsoft developed products
Provide 2nd-level support to the Helpdesk
Working closely with various vendors to maintain and keep current DM and all integrated applications such as Nuance PDF, MetaData Assistance, Workshare Compare, Autonomy and Microsoft Office Suit.
